PROTECMED ends the Construction Management and the warranty period for the Sant Vicenç dels Horts infiltration ponds for the Catalan Water Agency.

In 2010 the rafts were put into operation within the framework of the European project LIFE + ENSAT ("Enhancement of Soil Aquifer Treatment to Improve the Quality of Recharge Water in the Llobregat River Delta Aquifer").

From the commissioning of the recharge, the progressive decrease in the rate of infiltration of the rafts was observed due to the obstruction to sedimentation and clogging of the pores. Although different maintenance operations were carried out, the operation of the rafts stopped in November 2014 due to the low infiltration rate.

Following the silting problem, a project was drawn up in October 2016 to define the maintenance tasks of the rafts with the aim of increasing their permeability.

The Catalan Water Agency tendered in 2018 the execution and direction of the works. Awarding the direction of the works to PROTECMED.
